New Artist at Direktorenhaus: Carla Cascales

The designer and sculptor Carla Cascales lives and works in Barcelona. She designs installations and objects with natural surface structures of marble, fine woods and glass. In addition to her freelance work as a designer, she also produces these in the form of commissioned works for interior design projects. She would like to “find beauty in imperfection, profundity in coarseness, and honor her authenticity”.

In recent years, Cascales has worked with fashion brands, commissions and studios in Spain. Her objects have often been shown in group and solo exhibitions inside and outside Spain, for example in the White Wall and H20 galleries in Barcelona and in the MilkyWay Art installation New York. Cascales regularly gives talks about design processes and their work, most recently at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art and the Conde Duque Art Center in Madrid.
